Artery, Middle Cerebral

The middle cerebral artery, AKA MCA, is a terminal branch of the internal carotid artery.

Cases

1

This lateral DSA run demonstrates a wedge-shaped ischemic stroke secondary to an occlusion of the MCA branch (artery of the central sulcus) that supplies the areas adjacent to the central sulcus. Furthermore, notice an absence of the opacification of the ACA territories due to a hypoplastic ipsilateral A1 segment.
