The balloon angioplasty can be used to counteract intra-arterial stenosis.

This patient presented with a ruptured ACOM aneurysm, which was emergently coiled. On POD4, the patient developed left MCA syndrome, and TCD indicated left MCA vasospasm. A balloon angioplasty of the left MCA was performed, and the vasospasm improved from moderate to near normal. Patient's symptoms also improved with continuously elevated blood pressure.
